IVRS Based Payment:
Payment of landline bills is now easy by dialing 1296 which is a toll free number from the MTNL landline or mobile number. Following the IVRS or interactive voice response system, this can be done and it is possible to get 1% discount on the bill amount if this payment option is chosen, up to a maximum amount of Rs 250.
- Firstly, the landline and CA number is given.
- After the confirmation of both these numbers, the last outstanding bill is informed about.
Payments can be done through the credit card and the transaction number is to be noted for future references.
NB – Payment is not allowed after the due date with this IVRS system.

Dial 1296 ---->Choose your Language----> Give your Landline Number & CA Number------> Listen Your Outstanding Bills ----->Make payment by using your credit card----->Keep your Transaction Number.
MTNL Drop Boxes
The cheque of payment is required to be simply dropped along with the counterfoil of the bill in Standard Chartered or ICICI or bill box drop boxes, which are found in almost all the railway stations and important places in the suburbia.
Bank Collection Centers
Payment can be done in select branches of State Bank of India, Central Bank of India and Union Bank of India.
